I think we have a problem here in SamyGO. Older members knows almost all but newbies doesn't know how to execute basic programs... We thought that every one knows it due it's simplicity. But it's not correct. Also Wiki area is too wide for newbie.

I think we needed to create a wiki page `SamyGO for DUMMIES" and divert all newbies to that article before starting. The article might mention about how could we execute programs or copy them to internal TV memory etc. like easy things that we don't needed to feel mention about.

So I created the page. I and others will fill this area later to show simple processes. Also put pictures about running steps of external applications from TV etc...

Is my TV CI or CI+ ?

CI TV's has different "modal code" template than CI+ ones. You can learn your "modal code" from sticker at near of your TV. (TODO: Picture here on right)

  • After "modal number" like LE40B650 there is an extension part. If that parts third letter is 'P' than we could say that it's CI+ device. If third letter is 'W' than it's CI device.
  • Being CI or CI+ also affects your firmware modal name. CI+ firmwares has "CIP" letter in their firmware names.

look at this example:

LE40B652T4WXXU device uses T-CHL7DEUC firmware which indicates it is CI device.
LE40B652T2PXXU device uses T-CHLCIPDEUC firmware which indicates it is a CI+ device.
TODO: Add some UN,UE and PS modal "codes" here.

You can also learn your firmware name from Service Menu.
